Alexander Reid has designed an amazing West Village apartment, that’s defined by an incredible concept of classic modernism. The dark colors along with the open windows bring the light you need to make the home exquisite and comfortable. Join Home and Decoration, and step inside this astounding home.
We start with an open living area, that includes exquisite pieces all in the same room, without crowding it. The dark-toned furniture is able to give an adult vibe, along with its exquisiteness and yet, a comfortable and peaceful space.
The guest room needed to double as an office, so the designer had a custom desk built to conceal the radiator and paired it with an Eames chair. So, besides looking absolutely comfortable, it also allows you to give time to get some work done.
A Poul Henningsen floor lamp and a vintage Milo Baughman chair upholstered in a Schumacher fabric occupy a corner of the main bedroom, while a Gio Ponti mirror hangs above an antique Italian dresser nearby. The rug is by Stark.
The main bedroom is covered in Phillip Jeffries grasscloth, the light fixture is by Schoolhouse, and the custom bed is upholstered in a Dedar wool.
In the living room, there’s a Phillip Jeffries grasscloth envelops the den, which features a custom sectional upholstered in a Dedar velvet, a Jon Gasca cocktail table, a vintage Milo Baughman side table, and a vintage Swan chair by Arne Jacobsen. The light fixture is by Apparatus, and the rug is by Stark.
