Shinola Hotel

“New independent hotels have played a vital part in Detroit’s regeneration. Though none embraces the city’s past, present, and future as holistically as Shinola. Of course, there’s the fact that it sews together two old buildings on central Woodward Avenue: the brick-fronted, 1915 TB Rayl Co. department store and a former Singer sewing-machine factory. But there is also the fact that it uses contemporary elements to highlight the city’s history.”

UWS Townhouse

The primary directive from the clients was to create a gallery-like space that would showcase their ever-expanding and diverse collection of art and design; Gachot sought to deliver while making a space that was human, textured, and liveable.

Renovation of a 12,000 square foot three-story penthouse residence in SoHo, New York. The home includes a screening room, spa, gym, wine room, exterior hot tub, sky bar, and yoga studio in a decommissioned water tower.

Inspired by the client’s Haussmannian apartment in Paris, this West Village townhouse was designed for an iconic fashion designer and his Instagram-famous bull terrier.
The Shepard
New York City
A 42-unit luxury condominium development for The Naftali Group located on West 10th and Washington Streets. The building was fully gutted and rebuilt. It now includes a Gym, Pilates Studio, Rock Wall, Basketball Court, Golf Simulator, Kid’s Art Room, Ping Pong Lounge, and Steam Rooms. Gachot designed all interiors, design directed the exterior extension working with BBB, and design directed the branding – working with IF Studios.
