In a few days, Miami will receive a fair of Design, and counts with the presence of artists from all corners of the world. This exhibition will happen near the Art Basel Miami Beach , in a new place adjacent to the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The Design Miami/2012 will have the pleasure of welcoming renowned contemporary designers that will expose various parts of exceptional works and limited editions. It is really a very attractive event to all true design lovers and collectors.
Each show balances exclusive commercial opportunities with progressive cultural programming, creating exciting collaborations with designers and design institutions, panels and lectures with luminaries from the worlds of design, architecture, art and fashion
Design Miami/2012 will expand its geographic reach by featuring galleries from previously unrepresented countries including Lebanon, Israel and Germany. In addition to the first-time participation of Chicago-based Volume Gallery and Philadelphia based Modern Gallery.
American Designers from all parts of America will show their work, renowned Italian Brands such as Colombari Rossela will present us the most important pieces from the best iltalian designers from last century, and we also will be able to observe the fantastic work of Delfina Delettrez, that will show us the handmade Jewelry.
One of the thematics of the fair and of the exposed pieces will be Nature, with materials and pieces inspired by it.
Some artists like, Ritsue Mishim, represent by the Pierre Marie Giraud Gallery, will expose some pieces that shows new technics in the ancient medium glass , these will demonstrate the innovation and new ways of working these material.
In these exhibition we will be able to observe the new trends of American and Italian Designers, some works inspired in Nature and new technics in the glass work and in the jewellery.
We also are gonna have the pleasure to see the work of portuguese designers with a exclusive high-end furniture, Boca do Lobo, crafted by hand, with ancient techniques, fused with modern production techniques that results in a contemporary design that be able to delight any design lovers.
Visitors to Design Miami/ will be welcomed by Drift, a pavilion created by New York-based collaborative studio Snarkitecture. A floating environment comprised of massive inflatable tubes, Drift resembles a topographical landscape in suspension: an ascending mountain above and an excavated cavern below. The lightness of the floating tubes underscores the mass of the enormous installation, visible from a distance of several blocks.
