Today I am eager to present an interview with a principal designer Ivan Meade, who is a founder of Meade Design Group and also received international and critical acclaim for his work in interior, graphic, and industrial design. What is more, Iván has worked with interior designers locally as well as in Australia and throughout North America to help them develop high-value brands for themselves.
– It is a pleasure to meet you, dear Ivan Meade. Can you tell our readers about yourself a little bit?
Nice to meet you as well, Brian! Well, I am a multidisciplinary designer and Principal of Meade Design Group in Victoria B.C. I was born in México and have been living in Canada since 1998. Our boutique studio specializes in high-end residential design, tailored graphics, and web design. We have also recently entered the field of fabric design with my eponymous fabric line, which was launched late last year.
-What do you expect from the year of 2015?
We have some great projects on the go. Iván Meade – A personal narrative in fabrics, which is our new fabricline is a primary focus, looking ahead to the next launch (which will include a line of scarves and pocket squares) and promotions. We will also continue to be involved in promoting Save Those Nuts [www.savethosenuts.com] a campaign against Testicular Cancer in April.

– What exhibitions are you going to visit during this year?
I will visit IDSWest and am planning to travel to Mexico to continue expanding promotion of the fabric line over there.
-What are your main principles at work?

-What new interior or graphic design services can you suggest in 2015?
We think every business nowadays needs to be on-line so you don’t limit yourself, with an e-commerce site you can be global and reach a larger market. With this comes responsive design so your on-line presence displays correctly on tablets and cellular phones (where many customers are now doing their browsing). The world is changing rapidly,so we have to be able to connect with what is going on and with this, come up with the services or products that are needed to stay current – or better, ahead of the game.
-In what countries can people find your fabric line?
For the Ivan Meade fabric line we are currently in Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, Spain and the UK through a combination of showrooms and our online store. The showrooms will be listed on the website very soon.
As you can see design has always been Iván’s passion. Besides, Ivan’s personal aesthetic is based on European methodology, which is overall timeless, but with a sophisticated, modern edge. I hope you enjoyed the interview with this great person and will continue follow his design career.
