After experiencing the New York busy lifestyle, the fashion designer, Hayden Lasher, decided to go back to her roots, and move into the suburbs of Houston, Texas, with her family. While they renovate their house in Tanglewood, Lasher is staying in her childhood home, on River Oaks, where her father still lives.
“I have so many memories from this house—rolling down the hill in the backyard, putting on choreographed dances in the foyer, creating concoctions in the kitchen of anything and everything we can find in the kitchen”, she tells to the Texas Monthly.
The house was built in 1965 and has that glamour look of the time, with a classic French style influence. The handbag designer affirms that many of her work is inspired by the unique details of her childhood escape. For example, in this picture, the mirror and mantel are both 18th-century French pieces.

Hayden’s childhood room screams girly decor with the flower pattern that we can find all over the bed, and the pair of Dorothy Doughty’s bird sculptures in the top right corner. By that time, the designer shared her with her sister.
