Bold infusion of Dutch design is one thing that we can expect from Ventura Projects during the incredible International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF 2019) hosted in the beautiful New York City! When we talk about design, we are referring to the country’s established design legends, as well as emerging talents that share the love for contemporary design.

From artistic and sustainable design to technologically innovative product, the inspiring exhibition showcases a creative range of solutions and concepts based on the concept of the Netherland’s contemporary design. For example, Creative Chef Studio, Jasper Udink ten Cate, pushes the boundaries between food, design, and art; while the designer Aleksandra Gaca creates architectural 3D-woven textiles that bring comfort to overly stimulating environments.

“In Holland, beauty does not happen by chance. We create a very deliberate – albeit – freeway. The designers we are bringing to New York are on a mission to change the world one design at a time. We are a small country with limited resources, but that has led to a unique perspective in our designers. This perspective is smart, adaptable and stands for a way of working and thinking that goes beyond our own borders,” explained Margriet Vollenberg, founder and art director of Ventura Projects.

Supported by the Dutch Consulate General in New York, the creative initiative is also a part of several initiatives organized in the United States, like the Dutch Culture USA program, Creative Industries Fund NL, Netherlands Enterprise Agency, Creative #olland, Brabant C, Dutch Design Foundation, and last (but not least) the Organisation in Design.
