The re-imagined Loews Regency Hotel features 379 guest rooms, including 58 suites, as well as a new signature restaurant, Lobby Lounge and a new flagship salon headlined by Julien Farel, which will incorporate a men’s salon on the ground floor. With the hotel’s reopening comes its legendary exceptional service and world-class amenities optimal for conducting business or taking advantage of the city’s best shopping, cultural experiences, and dining, all from an unparalleled Park Avenue address.
Brise de printemps is an art installation created by Nina Helms and located in the Lobby Lounge of the luxury hotel. The piece features seven different sculpted interpretations of 438 dogwood flowers in various stages of a bloom cycle that seem to float across the wall. Each sculpture was created by hand, using classic sculpting methods with exquisite attention to detail and craftsmanship.
“I see the Loews Regency Hotel as a host and a catalyst for power and innovation. For the reemergence of this influential hotel I wanted to create a piece that interpreted that potential and transformation as captured in the simple beauty of nature. My ultimate goal in designing the sculpture was for guests to experience this feeling in an elemental form,” says Helms.
Helms strives to illustrate the beauty of natural forms in her imaginative designs. Each hand-sculpted piece she creates is an artistic expression of the subtle details and textures existing in nature.
“I love creating beauty for people. Each project is my creative interpretation of the client’s wishes. Seeing people’s smiles and sheer joy when they look at my work is why I do what I do,” says Helms.
