Led by five owners, the firm’s work can be found across the globe, with projects as wide-ranging as huts to high rises, homes—often for art collectors—to academic, cultural and civic projects, museums and exhibition design, places of worship, creative production, urban design, and interior design.
// Riley’s Cove Residence
This remodel and addition to a 1950s house opens up the original floor plan and creates a new entry sequence, providing a view through the house and reinforcing indoor-outdoor connections. The basic structure of the house was preserved.

// Urban Yoga Spa
Prominently located in Seattle’s Centennial Building, the Urban Yoga Spa is a modern insertion in a historic building designed by Henry W. Bittman in 1925. Two heated yoga studios occupy the ground floor, while a mezzanine contains the spa and locker rooms. The design, created in collaboration with interior designer Ted Tuttle, aims to create a serene and tranquil sanctuary in the middle of the city.

// Dowell Residence
Seattle’s Seward Park
During the renovation of the Dowell residence, designers were faced with seemingly conflicting directives: honor the iconic architecture and interiors of the Paul Kirk-designed home while updating it to fit the modern lifestyle of its new owner and his young daughter. By carefully refurbishing original materials and respectfully incorporating modern conveniences, Olson Kundig was able to successfully accomplish both.
// Sawmill
Set in the harsh high desert of California, Sawmill is a family retreat embedded into the tough, scrubby landscape. Sawmill harnesses the challenges and opportunities of its remote site, emphasizing sustainable strategies and reclaimed materials. Demonstrating that high design can also be high performance, Sawmill is a net-zero home that operates completely off the grid.
