Nowadays if you ask the hours to someone, probably they would check their mobile phone or the wrist. But would you be surprised if someone takes out a watch from the jackets’ pocket? Probably you’re answering affirmatively. But there’s no reason for you to be surprised.
From Jerusalem to the best pages of industrial design there it is: Nimrod Or, a recently graduate student from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. He created contemporary watches with 16th century inspiration, a cult object that meets old and minimalistic details. The simplicity around the pieces and the elegance of the leather straps make this object a unique reinvention of the baroque times.
His inspiration was the lines of family and the heritage of the watches. The collection “Meanwhile” combines different design details but all of them are quite minimalistic. From concrete, to stainless steel and to gold, each material is a link to the past. These watches are not a time machine, but the last centuries are well revived by them.
