I want you to say the first name of a top-end, a leader luxury furnishing fabrics company, which you can remember. Ready? Venice. Your answer is Rubelli? Correct!
Rubelli, a family business founded in 1858, now in its fifth generation, produces and sells collections of fabrics classified in the high fashion world, as trend setters in textile design.
The collections, how wonderful, che meraviglia
In the 2013 collection, the inspiration is reflected in the aging walls, decorations that were dressing different surfaces over time. Another invocation to the catalog of 2013 is the use of velvet, a tribute to the reflection of light in the rivers of Venice.
The whole creative process in the preparation, conception and creation boils down to the confidence it has in its rich historical archive, which dates back to remote periods of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, real gems that have been acquired over the years.
There are people you delegate tasks of great responsibility and difficult to implement, individuals passionate about what they do, by what they teach and learn in everyday life. Each collection has its own specific and characteristic personality that distinguishes it from the others, whether it be signed by a brand, a fashion designer or a photographer.
Armani Casa exclusive Textiles by Rubelli
Armani Casa is a constant presence in the collections of Rubelli, or wouldn’t we be discussing Made-in-Italy-labeled good design. In this collection, Armani Casa has joined once again an expert in his art, to produce new tissues for Rubelli.
Domenico Gnoli, focus and Italian detail
Master of the detail, sharp focus, distinctive work, we are talking about Domenico Gnoli. The art of this new collection represents a detailed view of the fibrous materials, so intricately embedded that they give the feeling that the textile itself has a rhythmic sensibility. As usual in the objects for the home by Armani, the impregnated geometry is soothing and seductive.
Certainly, in the subconscious of admirers around the world are eager to watch again a new collaboration between these two exponents of Italian design.
Renovatio of Pallazo Gritti
In every corner of Venice, it won’t be easy to choose an icon that brings together history, design and craft and artistic approaches. The redecorated and refurbished Palazzo Gritti is certainly the larger choice by the knowers and lovers of the Venetian town. The whole process involved collaboration for co-branding between Rubelli and Donghia, in which each contributed with the best products of its wide range. The mutual interest was to give a new identity to Gritti.
Simple gestures were considered, such as those needed to prevail convenience, comfort and functionality of services, through the use of furniture, art and accessories in the architectonical surroundings, all allusive to the Gritti essence. Everything was thought to offer a personalized experience, starting by the removal of names such as “guest’s rooms” and “executive suites” and the use of names easy to remind. Even “hotel” was taken from the address.
The Ateliers
Atelier of sculpture
In the workshop of sculpture, Antonin Gasq, is an example of aliveness. Teaching governments how to safeguard and protect the heritage, to the botanical drawings of a handcrafted way, all this is a reflection of his lifestyle, his family’s legacy.
Atelier of fashion
In the sphere of Haute Couture, there is no more romantic person than Franck Sorbier. The surrealist attitude with regards to your world, tell the fashion, sets the whole concept for the parades around the circus arts, cinema, theater and even with virtual tools. Virtuosity is what distinguishes him in the community. Simple creations, with eccentric results, this seems to be the dilemma of signature collections in Rubelli.
Atelier of photography
In the photography atelier, the responsible develops all her work covering as many countries, crossing all continents. Mexico, India and Morocco are some places where she confirmed his nomadic talent. The studio describes perfectly her world. Cameras, objects and charming textiles, testify the obsession. Rubeli delivered to the right person the job that 100 people could not do. Remember her name,Marie Taillefer.
