Pesce conceived these sofas as sectionals comprising three modules, enabling a section to be casually pulled away from the sofa and used as a chair, or for many sections to be placed end-to-end to make a very long sofa. One of the “Puffy” sofas has arms at each end, the other does not. It would be possible to combine the two Puffies to make a long, six-section sofa. Only one “Jester” sofa is available. This has no arms, but each section has a large, floppy “jester’s hat” that is a continuation of the back. These jester’s hats (which culminate in a fabric-covered Chinese health ball that makes a charming sound when shaken) can be used as built-in pillows or blankets, or thrown backwards, out of the way over the back of the sofa. (Note: the “Jester” sofa was later substantially redesigned by Pesce for series-production; the “Jester” we are offering here is from the original batch, made for Chiat-Day.)
The sofas are available individually or as a group.
