THE DESIGNER OF THE YEAR 2019 CONFERENCE
As you know, every edition the event’s organization team selects a Designer of the Year. The winner of the 2019 edition is Sebastian Herkner, a 37-year-old designer from Germany. ‘’My aim is to find a way to balance craftsmanship with new technologies’’. The environmental impact is a subject that really concerns the interior designer and in his conference, Herkner said that we should always invest in quality materials and craftspeople, as it becomes harder and harder to create waste.
MAISON ET OBJET TALKS: “PORTUGAL – ELDORADO ARCHI, DESIGN AND CRAFT”
The craftsmanship concept was the star once again! Oitoemponto team (Artur Miranda and Jacques Bec), Joana Astolfi from Astolfi Studio and Amândio Pereira, founder of Covet Foundation were the three guests of the conference. “Craftsmanship has been passed on from generation to generation. People are getting more curious and passionate about it”, affirmed Amândio Pereira.
