Top Design Projects That Are In The Covet International Awards Final – The CovetED magazine just reveal the top design projects that are on the run in the Covet International Awards grand final! The winner is going to be revealed in the famous design trade fair in Paris… I’m talking about (of course) the inspirational Maison et Objet!

The Covet International Awards is a worldwide design organized by Covet Group and the Covet Foundation that wants to promote the top design projects in the world. This competition is divided into a series of categories, like residential, hospitality, commercial and even projects made by students. Palais des Cristaux by MS Design

The entire Parisian club is all about the symmetrical interior design, inspired by the combination of the Parisian design style with the Italian and German artworks.

THE ART OF DESIGNING & CRAFTING

 

From the main entrance to the curved glass wall, we can see an innovative mirrored effect that highlights the handcrafted furniture and the fabric and finishes details that capture the true elegance of Paris in the upholstery elements. This project emphasizes the importance of Arts and Crafts, along with hand craftsmanship all throughout the space.

Dio by Gareth Seah

This 200 sqm penthouse in Singapore is all about the couture interiors, focusing on the clean lines and shapes as a primary vector, layered with inimitable materials that reveal its story and history. The inspiration for the unique form of this space was influenced by modernist architects and designers such as Le Corbusier, Mies Van Der Rohe & Gio Ponti. With the use of holy grails such as marble (Lapicida), wood (TalaricoHardwood), metal and lights which are fused together to create a modern luxury space like no other.

The River Oaks by Rottet Studio

The River Oaks condominiums is a 250,000 square-foot luxury condominium offering exclusive high-rise living in the heart of Houston’s most prestigious neighborhood. This project has been carefully designed to highlight the modernist perspective and the owner’s own collection of objects. Created in the 1960s, the mid-century building is one of the local landmarks thanks to its incredible address, expansive grounds, and Miesian-style architecture.

2 Gether Club House by PTang Studio Limited

Ptang Studio Limited is the design duo responsive for the interior design project called “2Gether” Club. The modern clubhouse is located along the south coast of Tuen Mun, China, and has a panoramic sea view from five natural bays. Inspired by the natural details of the surrounding environment, the modern architecture house captures the dynamic factor of the area’s active suburban lifestyle.

Upper East Side Residence by Pepe Calderin

The client is a boat and art lover with a rock and roll personality, so the interior designer decided to include in the design project a few nautical elements. The real challenge for him was to add that rock and roll touch that the client wanted, without messing around or overshadowing his artwork collection. The interior design features some rich colors shades, like maroons and deep blues, as a way to capture the owner’s personality in the modern house decor. Many of the pieces that decorate this home were entirely made out of the same style of wood that you can find in the structure of numerous boats.

Luxury Apartment facing the Queen’s Necklace by ZZ Architects

This is a unique sea-facing apartment that is something out of the ordinary both in terms of layout and then ultimately finishes. The designers incorporated some large oversize windows with minimum frames to make sure that the view is not obstructed by vertical members of the window frame. Free-flowing spaces and exploration of curved and sinuous forms create a new dimension for apartment design. The low ceiling heights and structural beams were to be camouflaged so as to make space feel seamless.

“Hidden Gem” in Ramsey Lake by Atelier Cachet

This modern house took 3 years to be built and has 7 baths, 4 powder rooms and 7 bedrooms including 140m2 of terraces, an infinity-edge pool, and spa. A high level of craftsmanship and artisan skills were required for the design project. Clean lines and maximum comfort were two of the client’s wishes for his new home. Strong architectural elements were implemented to create the ultimate in luxury living.

The House of Sandeman Hostel & Suites by Catarina Barbosa Cabral

The House of Sandeman Hostel & Suites is one of the world’s first Branded Hostel and celebrates one of the greatest Port Wine brands in the world. Located right on top of the river Douro, in one of Porto’s most iconic buildings, the place was completely transformed by the Portuguese interior designer, Catarina Barbosa Cabral. The “vindima” (the Portuguese word for the grape harvest) baskets serve as lighting for the rooms and many other details always connect us with the history of Port wine in a subtle way. The staterooms are unique spaces that recall the wine cellars and the Sandeman cellars that are on the lower floor.

Alessandra Hotel by Rottet Studio

Personified as the eldest of three European-born sisters—she is glamorous, refined and well-traveled with an unmistakable sensuality and sense of style, this boutique hotel is a contemporary reinterpretation of Old World elegance, grandeur, and European charm. The design project highlights the true old-world details as a contemporary statement, like the grandeur of arches, tall ceilings, and architectural volumes.

Ascott Marunouchi Tokyo by The Ascott Limited

Inspired by the synergistic connection between the rapid pace of modernization and the dignified charm of local culture, the design project of this boutique hotel harmonizes vernacular minimalist principles with luxurious modern trappings. Located in Japan’s capital city, the design experience begins as one crosses the threshold from the busy thoroughfare into a ground‐floor foyer enveloped in warm and welcoming hues of brown, bronze and soft gold.

Alveolus Mangwon by Alveolus Space LAB

This is the first hotel in Korea to be operated as a single room suite and it was created by Kim Young Seok, the founder and head designer of the Alveolus Space LAB. This design studio is in charge of the design segment responsible not only for business models, branding, architectural design, interior design, furniture, and accessories, but also space styling and space management and marketing.

The Hotel at Midtown by DMAC Architecture

The Midtown Athletic Club and Hotel project is part of a 54,000 sqm development. Located off Chicago’s Elston industrial corridor and towering above the new Midtown Athletic Club, the 3,300 sqm, 55-room Hotel at Midtown provides active travelers with an exclusive fitness experience and brings a high-end lifestyle center to boutique hospitality. The purpose of the design project is to transform what was the largest indoor tennis club in the country to the largest lifestyle center in the country.

Hermès Landmark Prince’s Central Hong Kong by RDAI

Denis Montel and his team of design experts created an architectural project influenced by the main lines of the local architecture. The structure of the modern building features a copper-colored anodized aluminum façade that shows the rhythm and verticality of bamboo as a material. As for the interior decoration, the interior designer took inspiration from materials like lacquered wood, leather, stucco, marble, and woven metal and on a palette of warm colors. On the floor, you can see two different textures, mosaic on the ground floor and bamboo parquet on the rest of the places.

Hubbard Clothing Co. in Rogers, AR by Goddard Design Group

Known for his expertise in high-end and luxury design, Chris  Goddard created a design project that tells the story behind the famous clothing brand, Hubbard Clothing. All of the distinct areas in the space were designed to work together as the ultimate luxury project shop to have the ultimate shopping experience.“When you walk in the door, you feel like you’ve been transported to Madison Avenue or a shop in Europe.”

Asya Sales Gallery Design by PTang Studio Limited

Using the traditional family tree as the inspiration for this family design project, the interior designers incorporated multiple architectural elements trickles and flows through space as lighting and partition features. Located in Jakarta Indonesia, Asya’s project is structured with interconnecting components, warm lighting with soft textures throughout to echo the warmth and sentiment within the areas.

Jim Thompson Flagship Store by Flint

The shop of Siam Paragon Mall, on a surface of 550sqm, was inspired by the Thai megalopolis which consists of the combination and balance of the tropical landscape with the quiet intimacy of Thai culture. Delivered in July 2017, the interior design project is organized around a vast central space on the ground of green marble livened up by gilded inserts, where groups of fractal furniture, sometimes support of tropical plants, are implanted.
