Her firm, S. B. Long Interiors, Inc. (SBL) is a full-service interior design firm whose “modern traditional” signature style is internationally recognized. SBL’s projects have been featured in design publications including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Luxe Magazine, and most recently D Home Magazine.

SBL works on projects across the country and worldwide and is well-known for delivering tailored, crisp and sophisticated interiors to the most discerning clients. Susan prides herself in completing projects on time and on budget.

Susan Bednar Long’s celebrated style is inspired by her design training at two world class luxury brands, extensive travels, and over ten years running Tocar Interior Design in New York City.

Beginning her career at a boutique design-build firm in Beverly Hills, Susan worked with some of the world’s most recognized celebrities and learned that “clients want someone who can manage every detail and deliver ‘turnkey’ projects.”

Later, at Polo Ralph Lauren, Susan oversaw the decoration of their flagship Retail Stores and at Coach she was the creative force behind their new store prototype and furniture line. “My experiences taught me to layer all of the elements – wallpaper, artwork, furniture, fabrics, accessories, and lighting. Without layering, rooms aren’t done.”

Susan’s travels for business and pleasure provide rich inspirations for her projects. “You never know when you’ll see something special – from a row of cabanas on an Italian beach to a lobby of a small inn in the Alps – that can provide a novel inspiration.”
